The Chief Mentor of Vibrant Goa Summit, Dr. Jagat Shah, informed that the event generated Rs 1,150 crore worth of business enquiries. He also said that the State received investment proposals worth Rs 450 crore during the 3-day long event.
Dr. Shah shared the data while presenting the report card of the event. The enquiries were generated because 6,500 business delegates visited various stalls of the local companies.
“A building material company from Canada gave an order of Rs 60 lakhs to a Goan company. A company, which had put up a stall of wooden house, got three orders. Another businessman got an order from Oman of Rs 10 crore. From Oman, an auto training institute has taken 10 student-buddies at their own cost for auto engineering training in their country,” Dr. Shah said.
The team of Vibrant Goa had trained 550 students from various colleges of the State to be with the international delegates right from the moment they reached the airport and to learn from them nuances of international business.
These students are known as student-buddies. Even Chief Minister, Pramod Sawant, hailed the student buddies for their efforts and said he would be meeting them soon.
The organising team of Vibrant Goa hosted 542 international delegates for three days at its own cost. The team also arranged 410 B2B meetings between local and visiting companies for trade opportunities.
Over the previous six months, 180 companies from the State were trained by the team in how to deal with delegates coming from all over the world.
